October 2007: The Winter Opening Party |
Thursday, 11 October 2007 |

The last few weeks have seen all of Ibiza's clubs and discos close their nights (and their doors) with a battery of Closing Parties that rival no other place on earth. Household names like Deep Dish, Danny Tenaglia and scores of famous, and lesser known, djs have spun to full-to-the-brim clubs, on their way out of the island. Unlike the others, GUARANA never closes its doors so, instead of celebrating a season's end, it is the beginning of "winter" that's the reason for the coming sunday's party. With its trademark blend of live bands and hot djs, Guarana's Winter Opening fiesta signals the start of a quieter, gentler, time on this beautiful island and is one of the last chances to party, Ibiza-style, in what is left of 2007. From 5pm to late-night 6am, in the heart of Santa Eulalia' marina..... |

Although for a while it almost seemed as summer would never end, the season's closing parties are the daily ritual of demise for another great clubbing year in Ibiza. But at GUARANA's, way before announcing the official closing (usually around mid october), it's the annual Anniversary Party once again!! This is the night that no one should miss, if you are in or near Ibiza!! |

Once again, for the third time in a row, IS IT SICK? night was a great success. Robyn Stager and Sean Andino played to a packed Guarana 'til daylight.
In less than a month, IS IT SICK? has managed to be the most successful party of the 2007 season. A short bio, from Robyn Stager's MySpace page, reads: Born in the mid 80th in the techno city Frankfurt, Robyn Stager grew up on the outskirts. After finishing his school Robyn moved to his dad¥s home on the Balearic island Ibiza. On this island he had his first contact with electronic music ever. Being totally caught up from the new sound he experienced, Robyn decided to buy some Technics turntables and some fine house-tunes with support from Julian Amour who was playing for the legendary "La Troya" at Amnesia. Later on he found his style in minimal music, too, and he started creating his own individual sound existing of minimal beats combined with pumpin tech-house tracks. "DC10" stands for the Sound he loves, Djs like Cirillo, Loco Dice, Tania Vulcano, Clive Henry and Luciano were the one who drove him crazy...."
